Motorcyclist Rendon Dietzmann’s Reckless Ride: A Viral Joyride with Serious Consequences

YTHut

Rendon Dietzmann, a 32-year-old motorcyclist from Texas, gained notoriety last year when he posted a daring video of his high-speed ride from Colorado Springs to Denver. In a feat that defied traffic norms, Dietzmann completed the typically hour-long journey in a mere 20 minutes on Interstate 25.

The Viral Video

The video, shared under Dietzmann’s YouTube account “Gixxer Brah” depicted him weaving through traffic at speeds of up to 150 miles per hour. The footage captured the adrenaline-fueled ride as he maneuvered between vehicles and even rode on the shoulder of the highway. The original video garnered nearly 500,000 views within a week, but YouTube later removed it for violating community guidelines.

Dietzmann’s reckless ride caught the attention of law enforcement, and he was arrested in February. The Colorado State Patrol pursued him after the viral video depicted him weaving between vehicles and riding on the shoulder of Interstate 25. This stretch of highway typically has speed limits ranging from 65 mph to 75 mph, making Dietzmann’s speeds of up to 180 miles per hour particularly dangerous.

During his sentencing, Dietzmann pled guilty to speed exhibition in El Paso County Court. As a result, he served 14 days in jail and paid nearly $2,000 in extradition costs after being tracked down in El Paso, Texas. Additionally, his driving privileges in Colorado were revoked, meaning he won’t be allowed to drive in the state for up to one year.

Dietzmann’s attorney, Levi Price, acknowledged the danger posed by his client’s actions and expressed Dietzmann’s desire to apologize to the court and the people of Colorado. However, when asked directly about his guilt, Dietzmann could only respond with a hesitant “uh.” The Fourth Judicial District Attorney’s Office emphasized the seriousness of his extreme speeding on I-25, which endangered both himself and the community.
